NOTICE OF ROAD CLOSURES IN GRENDON and the surrounding areas Saturday, 10th May - WAENDEL WALK
Wellingborough Town Council has been granted permission for temporary road closures during the upcoming Waendel Walk Weekend. These closures are necessary to ensure the safety of walkers participating in the event, particularly in areas where there is no access to a footpath.Saturday 10th May 2025:- Farndish Road / Irchester Road: from National Speed limit sign on Farndish Road adjacent to Coulon Close to end of Irchester Road junction with its junction with Irchester Road- From the last house on Hardwater Road nearest to the junction with Main Road.- Including the opposite direction of Hardwater Road starting near the junction of Main Road and continuing on Main Road to its junction with Blackmile Lane near the 30MPH sign- From National Speed limit sign on Station Road near Grendon village sign heading towards Earls Barton. Including its junctions with Whiston Road near Porters Lodge. Continuing to the right on Station Road towards the A45 cross over to where it meets with Grendon Road coming the other way.A professional traffic management company has been contracted to implement and oversee the closures. They will ensure that correct signage is in place both before and during the event to clearly advertise the closures. Additionally, traffic management staff will be present at each closure point throughout the day to manage the flow of traffic and assist residents and businesses.Notices will be placed on lampposts, and leaflets will be posted near affected streets closer to the event date to keep residents informed.While these closures are in effect, only residents and their visitors, and those requiring access to businesses within the affected areas will be permitted entry. Drivers will be advised to proceed with due care and attention, as there will be walkers present on the road.The closures may not remain in place for the entire duration of the time granted.
